Health and Safety Committee
The Safety Representitives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977 and the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 place specific duties on the employer to consult with his employees on matters relating to the health and safety of his employees.
Consultation with employees may either be directly where all employees are directly consulted (normal for smaller businesses) or by way of an elected Health and Safety Committee who will discuss safety matters with the company on behalf of all employees.
